Vaginoplasty Can Help Heal Childbirth Trauma

Blog

Childbirth can be a joyous occasion. The start of a new life is usually a time for celebration. However, it can also be difficult on a body. There are things that can happen to your body, including things like vaginal tears. Vaginal tears can range from very minor to tears that go from the vagina all the way through the perineum to the anus. Episiotomies are supposed to keep that from happening; however, sometimes they have their own problems. If you have had a tear or a bad episiotomy, there are things that you can do to help to repair and rejuvenate your vagina. Doing those things can help to bring your vagina back to its pre-childbirth state.

Vagina Rejuvenation

Vagina rejuvenation is also called vaginoplasty. It involves various kinds procedures that can tighten the vagina and the perineum. Vaginoplasty is also used in surgeries for transgender women to create a vagina where there was none before.

Surgical Rejuvenation

Surgical rejuvenation generally involves some kind of invasive procedure that removes some part of the vaginal tissues or tissues from the vulva. That include doing things like trimming down the inner or outer labia so that the entrance to the vagina feels tighter. The procedures can also include something called a central wedge procedure. That includes taking a piece of tissue out of the vagina that is shaped like a pie and then connecting the two sides of the cut. As it heals, the vagina tightens up.

Non-Surgical Rejuvenation

There are also various non-surgical rejuvenation procedures. They can include things like using radiofrequency treatments that generate a small amount of heat or laser therapy in order to encourage the muscles and tissues to tighten back up to their former state. These treatments generally include some kind of vaginal probe that is the actual treatment tool. A person who chooses to use one of these treatment options may have to have several treatments in order to get the results that they are looking for. One reason to use one of these treatments is that they tend to have a shorter recovery period and they tend to be less painful than a surgical option, although there is some pain involved.

Childbirth trauma to the vagina and surrounding areas can cause problems for women later. Vaginoplasty or vaginal rejuvenation can help that woman have a vagina that is closer to what it was prior to childbirth. Contact a clinic like Caring For Women to learn more.

ER or Urgent Care? How to Decide when Ill

I am a mother of four wonderful children, and like other parents, I have been to my fair share of health care clinics. It seems like my children are always getting scrapes and coming down with colds. When I was a new parent, I never knew whether I should take my injured or ill child to the emergency room or local urgent care facility. I received some simple advice from a seasoned parent that made my decisions easier that I want to pass onto all new parents, along with other health tips I've learned. he told me that she tended to take her children to the ER when they were bleeding or had very high temperatures and took them to the local urgent care for any other problem. I have followed her advice ever since, and my children remain healthy and happy!
