Three Reasons To Change Out Your Knee For A Robotic Knee

Blog

If you have had knee troubles in the past, with anything from a break to damage due to a staph infection, you know how bad knee issues can feel. If your knee issues have been getting progressively worse, your physician may suggest that you have another knee surgery. Before you consent to another surgery, you may want to look into a robotic knee. here are three reasons why you should make the decision to switch out your knee for a robotic joint.

You have issues with moving around

If you have already had a surgery or several surgeries on your knee but moving around on the knee is getting worse, this could be a sign that the cartilage and/or the bone is not progressing in the right direction. If your doctor is suggesting another surgery, it can be a good idea to ask if a robotic knee is a possibility for you. Sometimes saving a joint will be a longer and harder road than replacing the knee with a robotic joint that can help you move around.

You desire to be active

If you are a runner or if you play professional or semi-professional sports, a knee that is prone to problems can cost you your body and your career. If a sports injury is constantly causing you pain or if you have to be more careful on your knee than your profession or hobby can stand, a robotic limb may save your career and your ability to stay active as your age progresses. Be sure that the healing time and that getting used to the robotic joint will take place in enough time that it won't also put your career on hold or stall your hobby's progress.

You have been predisposed to bone problems

Whether you are predisposed to having bone and joint problems due to an illness or because your family's genetics call make you more susceptible to joint issues, there may be better options for you. Ask your doctor to look over your family's history with bone problems or with joint pain. If there is a high chance of your knee joints getting worse and your ability to walk being compromised, it can be a good idea to opt into surgery for a robotic knee. This will give you the time and energy to strengthen your bones while still being able to walk around and take care of yourself.

ER or Urgent Care? How to Decide when Ill

I am a mother of four wonderful children, and like other parents, I have been to my fair share of health care clinics. It seems like my children are always getting scrapes and coming down with colds. When I was a new parent, I never knew whether I should take my injured or ill child to the emergency room or local urgent care facility. I received some simple advice from a seasoned parent that made my decisions easier that I want to pass onto all new parents, along with other health tips I've learned. he told me that she tended to take her children to the ER when they were bleeding or had very high temperatures and took them to the local urgent care for any other problem. I have followed her advice ever since, and my children remain healthy and happy!
